  1. take them to the park

finger paint (can paint with chocolate pudding)

make a fun craft like decorating a picture frame for mommy and daddy

get a few things to dress up in and have a little dance party with fun childrens music

those are a couple ideas. hope i helped :)

  2. 4 year olds LOVE to be silly.  Maybe sing some silly songs like "London Bridge" or "Bingo".

Let them know there will be quiet times too when they can color, play with playdough or legos.

Depends on their bedtime, but I would say no TV.  Too many kids get TOO much TV these days.

If it is nice outside, go outside and play a nice game of tag, make sure they understand how to play, or blowing bubbles is ALWAYS a hit!

    Have fun!

  3. Easy question for me since I work at a daycare with kids from 16months  -- 9.  Here are some easy ideas for you, but you'll have to be right in there with them.

               Finger panting

               play dough

               coloring

make a art project with glitter

Go to the park if it's okay with the parents

play some songs maybe kid songs were they can dance and be silly.

play dress up (even little boys like to dress up. I've seen it at my daycare and at home)

               read stories

              make up a easy game

play a game were you get in a circle and roll a ball to each other and be silly with it.

              make up a puppet show

build with lagos.  Make large towers and let them knock it over if it's safe. Kids love knocking towers. ( Seen it first hand myself.)

put in a kid movie they all love and get together on the couch and have popcorn and water and just have a good time together watching a movie.

do some silly exercises. Make them animal like.  Like for exp dance like a silly snake.  Sit like a butterfly and try and reach your toes.  Move your arms like a alagators(sp?) mouth. Hop like a monkey

            play with bubbles

if you have any big boxes make a house out of it.

play that statue game. where you play music and they can move but then when the music stops they have to freeze.

sing some kid songs or even make your own up.

These are just what came off the top of my head. I can think of more and add them as they come.

Hope you have a blast babysitting.

P.S. Here is a site with kid songs and has lyrics to. All you do is click a letter and it well give you all the songs with that letter. http://www.lyricsondemand.com/miscellane...

  4. I use to work at a daycare for 3 years with 4 year olds and sometimes with 6-8 years olds. It really depends of if they are boys or girls. 4 years old girls are starting to get the the age of playing house with babies and pretending to cook. Mine use to love to pretend to have a picnic on the floor and give me the food they "made". And Art even for the boys they love glue and scissors, but you have to be right there with them, or it will be a mess really quick. Boys are at the age of building, fighting, and guns. They can make a gun out of any simple toy. Most 4 year old boys or girls like puzzles and the memory game. Whenever they were getting a little out of control I put on music and had a dance party. If you get in there with them, spinning them and lead dance moves all the better. Seven year olds are little more challenging with that age that they think they know everything. Boys are worse. Both will play board games and drawing. They have a lot of energy outside aactivitiesare good. Art is still great for both ages. I wouldn't do paint, lots of clean up, but something like gluing pasta or you can use markers to color and if you take a paintbrush over the marker with just water the colors run. Hope this helps.

  5. art

    water balloon fight

    hide and seek

    anything with water

    crafts

    tents(pretend camping)

  6. painting drawing making fairy cakes only cost about a quid and they have fun.. take them the park play hide and seek,

  7. Try going to kid-themed places. Do arts and crafts with them. Children love to be creative. Try finger-painting or play-doe. Kids love messy and squishy stuff.
