What are some fun activities I can do with my six year old daughter at home?

It seems like I am able to do more with my 9 year old son like throw the ball around, fish, ride bikes together. I feel bad for my daughter because I would like to give her the same attention, I just don't know what I could do with her that would be fun.

  1. Get a large cardboard box, decorate it to look like a castle, etc,: imagination games

  2. I think you could probably do the same things - bring her along.

  3. mabye if she likes to play tea party you could join or dollies and mabye a game where you put an egg on a spoon and walk across the yard without cracking it open (trust me its fun).

andsome hand games or card games. oh and blowing bubbles is fun too. and tossing balloons.

    hope this helps :)

  4. dress up is a good one =)

another would be playing house. idk if she is too old for that or not. umm, barbies maybe?

uh...teach her how to play some sort of sport, or how to ride a bike. u can teach her responsibility by making some chores fun. make them a game. if she doesn't have chores then you can make up a game or something with her.

google word games for kids you should find some good games. i hope you have fun!

  5. When I was six, I loved fishing, catch, and biking.  Of course, I've always been a tomboy.  See if your daughter wants to try those things.  I haven't met a little girl yet that doesn't like to ride a bike, though.  If she's especially girly, you can read to her, take her for a walk, play board games with her, find crafts to do (like the vinegar/baking soda volcano!) and things like that.  Good luck.

  6. Play dolls with her, arts and crafts (like play do, painting, etc.)

  7. You could help her do some crafts, like making a bird house - cutting the wood and painting it. You can also cook together, which is a great way of being able to communicate. Be patient with her because she will not be as coordinated as her brother. You can help her do some string art projects. Help her make jewelry - you probably have pinch nose pliers that can bend the metal. There are plenty of crafts available at the hobby store. My dad taught me how to handle simple tools and I am thankful for those lessons. Just going for a simple walk and letting her talk can be nice for her. Don't always try to talk and take over the conversation; let her take time and talk. If there is a park around, helping her climb and balance can be a big help and a good learning experience. Father's that read to their daughters are influential in their academic development. You can read a 'chapter' book for a half hour a day and it might take a while to finish the book. Make sure it's interesting to her. If she likes horses, dogs, etc., there are a lot of books that you can read to her. Stay away from cartoon type books - they usually don't have good vocabulary words, and they are silly in content.

  8. lol ...teaparty, movies, tv, play outside[use your imagination], play dress up?, etc.

  9. Why can't you do the same stuff with your daughter?? Just modify it a bit. Little girls love to ride bikes  (even if the bike has training wheels)  I am sure she would love to play ball..she's younger so maybe she could throw to you.  I am sure she would love to learn how to fish ...they make the cutest little fishing poles for girls...(you can get them at Wal-mart)

  10. take her to the park buy her a jump rope and hola hop and  teach her to use it

  11. So much fun things! When i was little, i loved the easy bake oven; so think about baking a cake with her, and adding frosting and everything! Going to the park is a blast, or the beach or shore whatever you have where you are. One of the best times i had, was playing with the water sprinklers, or a kiddy pool.

  12. well you could play dress up with her, ( little girls always wanna play dress up but have no one to dress up with), umm u could watch her favorite movie, you could play with chalk outside and draw pictures, you could let her show u her dolls (if she has any), you could put in her favorite cd and dance to the music, or you could even take u and ur kids to the park or to a local pool ( that way u can have fun with both ur kids). Hope u have fun with ur daughter!

P.S. Spend lots of time with ur daughter and son time flies by very quickly

  13. Let her help you cook.  I started a tradition in our house that one day a week my 7 year old daughter gets to pick what will be for dinner and do all the prep (I help with knifes and using the stove) She loves it and looks forward to it every week it has been a great way for us to bond and just spend one on one time together.

  14. Lots of girls like to play ball too.... maybe tennis, basketball, soccer, or even 4 square.

cook.... brownies, cake, cookies.. lunch... dinner... cooking together is great family time stuff.

make slime.... (various recipies avaliable online)

board games.... LOTS of those are FUN & create good memories.

card games... Uno, Go Fish, or even Poker...

    read books together often...

I've always been taught that if we teach our kids stuff... anything... and we will probably learn more than they did.

  15. Tea party, Dress up, coloring, story telling, puppets, painting and outside games. Does she like video games? If so there are some not to bad priced dancing games you can buy that come with a dance mat. My daughter who is 8 loves all of the above.

  16. you can take her to the park and go on swing and stuff.

you can have tea parties or dress ups play bored games, play with her dolls, if shes into sports and stuff play with your son as well and play ball or football.

let her put make up on you, there are tones of things if you put your mind to it.

  17. Take her fishing! My five-yr-old daughter loves to fish; she caught her first fish when she was four.

She also loves to shoot my old BB-gun, and she's expressed interest in archery. How cool is that? See if your daughter likes any of your hobbies or interests.

She likes going to the park to play on the monkey bars, and sometimes I push her on the swing, or we walk around and look for bugs. We also go to Sams Club every Saturday and try all the food samples.

This is going to be easier than you think  - just get started!

  18. what are her hobbies? does dhe like ponies cause why don't you take her to ride one? or even just to see some.

when i was younger i loved to dress up and play imagination games etc.  Or u could take her outside and go for a walk showing her lots of pretty places etc

  19. ask her what she wants to do!

riding bikes- learn to ride without training wheels eventually

    library

    walks

    simple hiking

    movies

    parks

    roller skating

    bowling

throwing the ball with her too

    tag

    hide and seek

    take her fishing

  20. play dolls bake and decorate cookies have make up nails day read a story to her put on music do silly dances

  21. -throw a tea party-make cucumber sandwhiches, different pastries, and make  different teas-invite her other friends and possibly there mothers too

    -teach her to bake/cook

-have a girls night where you guys go to the mall or have dinner out and than go out and rent movies together

-try to get her into a sewing class with other kids her age or teach her to sew yourself

  22. Board games are always fun.  You could always play outside with her too.

  23. Kids just want to have fun with mommy and daddy, and any attention is a good thing. Maybe she'll have fun doing the same stuff.

What kid doesn't love their first caught fish?: :D (Although my little 4 year old daughter just likes to throw rocks and sticks, but its still fun to be at the lake.)

  24. play in the sprinkler with her

find some stuff around the house to make a craft

    bake cookies or a sweet

let her help you make dinner

    play board games

play dress up or make a play to perform for you son

play dance freeze (i used to love that when i was little and its fun for everyone, let your son be the d.j. and start and stop the c.d. if he wants)

you could do a scavenger hunt around the house

    make an indoor obstacle course

you can play school and let her be the teacher

you could make a collage and let her pick pictures out of magazines

you can make puppets and put on a puppet show

building a fort might be fun

ill try and think of some more ideas and come back good luck (:

  25. Dress-ups

  26. My granddaughter is 6....she enjoys crafts, coloring, playing games on the computer...those are things you can do with her.

  27. Candyland!

Let her borrow your digital camera and snap some photos and put them on the computer.

Watch a show together she chooses.

6 year old girls ride bikes too (last time I checked).

    Take her shopping

    Take her to a movie.

Teach her to catch a ball.

    Take her fishing.

    Take her to the library.

Dude, use your imagination.  Little girls (6) like many of the same things little 6-year old boys do.  What'd you do with your 6-year old son?

  28. getting drunk with a kid is obvously not a good thing

so here are some good things to do

    * play board games like sorry and chuts and ladders

    * put together a puzzle

    * draw or color pictures in a coloring book (you can print off color sheets online)

    * do simple arts and crafts like makeing a picture frame out of pop sicle sticks

you could even get your 9 year old inevolved and play games out side like hide and seek or tag

  29. maybe she might be into sports also, or plays dolls nothing wrong wit playing wit dolls wit your daughter...coloring idk

  30. My niece LOVES crafts...and no, this will not take away your manhood.  Also, just sitting around watching one of her fave shows (Hannah Montana?) with her is quality time, even if not much is said...just laughing together is fun.  Ride bikes w/her too.  Bite the bullet & take her shopping.

    Ask her. Good luck!

  31. 6 is the perfect age for crafts. When I was 6 I liked doing these things called fuse beads. Or take her shopping for like some cheap makeup. Always fun. Or teach her to ride a bike then you can do that with both of them. Good Luck
