  1. Science and Art: "Terrific Toads"

To help pre-school and kindergarten children learn the difference between frogs and toads, and to learn about toads in general, Elisa H. shares this early childhood activity.

Materials: Book: Frog and Toad are Friends, brown construction paper with the out line of a toad, bird seed and glue.

Description: Teachers read the book and then provide the toad outlines. Let the kids put big splotches of glue on the paper. For best results use straight glue, not mixed with water. Sprinkle on

bird seed. When dry: It's bumpy like a real toad!

Follow up by making "toad houses". Cut an oatmeal container in half, cut out a door, hide outside in summer and wait to see if you get a toad. It really works! Remember to let the toad go after you look at it.

Comments: The toads look really neat!

game ;play relays jumping like frogs and sound like frogs.

5 little speckle frogs sitting on a speckle log eatting the most nices lunch 1 jumps in the pond how many frog left ...............it goes like that ?

have a frog and it leaps onto how many lilly pads ?

how many dots on the frog.

    count how many frogs

Ff for frog draw a picture of a frog and let them colour it in.

hope this will help  got all answers from my head ,I think you would rather websites.

  2. www.growafrog.com, you can buy a tadpole/aquatic frog habitat for your room, really cool!

  3. site info is great but you also need to use your own brain as things you find interesting may be of just as much exciting to children as some one elses "boxed" ideas....

i have used the following ideas...

    music...five green speckled frogs,

art...lily pads from coffee filters(using a variety of paint methods)...making a frog life cycle pictures(after discussions and some pictures)....making a pond enviroment(can be art and social and science)...we added a variety of other animals plants and flowers to make a complete environment or habitat throughout a month or so...

math .... matching dots on the frogs back to ones on a lilly pad...matching frog patterns(either colors, shapes, and actual numbers)

start with some of these and go with some of your own ideas always remembering the ages and abilities of the children in your class

  4. http://www.perpetualpreschool.com/presch...

    Really good website

  5. My favorite song goes like this:

5 Green and speckled frogs..sat on a speckled log eating the most delicious bugs...(rub tummy) Yum! Yum!  One jumped into the pool where it was nice and cool then there were 4 green speckled frogs...

Then you continue to sing 4,3,2,1 and then none.

You could make paper frogs, jump on fake lily pads, use the water table with grass in it, count frogs.
