My friend is planning on throwing me a baby shower, but she has never been to one, and we don't know any fun things to do there?

Anyone have any games they liked or know of? Thanks.

    Who has the dirty diaper

Guess how much candy is in the jar

    Musical chairs

    toilet paper

  4. my mom and my sister threw me my babyshower.

Im not sure what the game is called.....but they got a tray and put about 10 items of babystuff on it (hairbrush, pacy, bottle nipple, jar of babyfood,q-tips,rubber ducky....ect) and I walked around showing everyone the tray. Little did everyone know...when I walked out the room...they actually had to remember what I was wearing. Not what was on the tray. Like what color of shirt and pants was I wearing. ws my hair up or down. was i wearing any jewerely...ect....

Some people was mad because they were focusing on the trey but alot of people got a kick out of it. I would try that

  5. I just threw a baby shower and the guests loved the games I picked out:

    1. I had 8 baby foods in jars, and they had to guess what flavor it was by smelling, looking, tasting, or whatever they wanted to do.

    2. I made a list of 20 nursery rhymes and left blanks for part of it.. For example, "Mary had a little lamb, it's ________ was white as snow". Of course I used some harder ones so people had to think more!

    3. I took a roll of yarn and the guests had to cut the yarn to the size they thought the mom's belly was. There were some hilarious guesses and the mom was a little offended at a lot of them! =)

    Good luck!

  6. Well at my baby shower

we had different objects and they were hard to guess

    they were weird objects

and you blind fold that person and get them to feel the object

but make sure its nothing sharp

one of the items was a plug from the shower

  7. A couple fun games that we did at my shower were taking a roll of toilet paper, and each guest tears off a length that the estimate to be the size of your baby waist, who ever is closest wins a little prize, another was everyone writes down their "guess" for a name on a little slip of paper,  you draw out the slips at random to name your baby (even if you know the s*x you draw for both) so you can get a girl named Brian Elizabeth, or a girl named Devon Robert Etc....

Everyone also took turns writing in a little journal (from Hallmark, TJ maxx etc) a snipit of parental advice, Like "take lots of pictures!" Or "always turn on a light when changing #2 diapers in the middle of the night...)  You might want to have the hostess set an example of this by writing her little advice so people don't write long drawn out childhood stories. Also if you look on line, there will be sites for planning good baby showers. We also had stickers on the bottoms of the plates that were "door prizes" it was fun.

Have a good time at yours!

  8. On an episode of The Girls Next Door Holly through a baby shower for a girl and she melted candy bars into diapers then made the guest pass it around and guess what kind of candy it was...very hilarious.

  9. I did the following games at my baby shower and a friend's:

Baby bingo: give your guests empty bingo sheets and let them fill in the spaces with items they think you'll get as gifts (pacifier, bottle, blanket, ect.). Make sure to give the free space in the middle. You can use small pieces of candie for bingo pieces. The first one (or first couple) to make bingo win.

Baby bottle chug: this one is fun for any children at your party. Buy some cheap bottles at a dollar store and fill them up with milk or water, then see who can chug in the fastest. For times sake, only fill it up about a 1/3 of the way, as it takes a lot longer than it seems it would. Again, first one to finish it wins.

Dirty diaper guess: this is a favorite. Get some chocolate bars, such as hershey's, nestle's, reese's, and snickers. Cut them up and then microwave them for 30 seconds or less, in increments of 10 seconds, making sure to stir each time. Then pile the melted "p**p" into the diaper and pass them around to each table. Have each person guess what chocolate bar they think is in each diaper.

how big is mommy's belly? take a ball of string, and have each person cut a length that they think is equal to the circumference of the widest part of mommy's belly.

If you do all four of those, that should take 30-45 minutes of the shower (each one about 10 minutes). Walmart has really good prizes: you can get $5 bath sets in the bath section and then 1 big prize for the person who wins the most games. You could get the prizes for $30 or less.

One other invaluable tip: offer a door prize drawing for anyone who brings a pack of size newborn or size 1 diapers, pack of wipes, or a book for baby's library. I did this and didn't have to buy diapers for 3 months. Hope the tips help.

  11. A GREAT baby shower game that I found out about only recently was to get some jelly babies (candy jelly in the shape of little babies) or if unavailable, little plastic babies and put 1 'baby' in each ice cube tray, then fill with water and freeze.

When your guests are ready to play games, each gets 1 in a plastic shot glass while you are playing other games. They are unable to actually touch the ice cune

The first baby to melt completely is the winner of a small prize. Believe me it gets competitive with people blowing on their babies, putting the cups in their hands to get warm, putting them in the sun etc.

Also, at this same shower, a game was a jigsaw puzzle done in groups of 2. The puzzle was actually the mum to be in an artistic pose holding her tummy. It was beautiful, and it was also a gift that everyone could keep..

These are the best original games I can think of!

  14. I helped throw a baby shower for my sister a couple months ago. My favorite game was where everybody was handed a clip to put on their shirts or somewhere easy to grab. If somebody caught you saying "baby" then somebody stole your clip, whoever has the most clips at the end wins.

We also went around with toilet paper and guessed how big her belly was, then we had a quiz on when she got married, when she's due, what are the baby names, etc. and we gave out prizes to the winners.
