  1. Lots of songs and reading books.

  2. simple scavenger hunts

    duck duck goose

story time with different voices as the characters

    macaroni  art and jewelry

    finger paints

    play doh or clay art

hope this helps alittle, good luck and enjoy the time : )

  3. make kool aid play dough

    make colored bubbles

    make kool aid ice cubes

    there's lots of stuff

look up summer activities for preschoolers

  4. get popsicle sticks and take polaroids of them and have them create picture frames for their moms for them to take home.

    sidewalk chalk

    bubbles they love bubbles

fingerpaints (what kid doesnt love messy)

then they will have a snack and you could have them make like chex mix and pour kool aid ..

have each parent donate a white thsirt and then you can tye die them...

another option is to get those little metal pie pans..

and go to home depot and get plaster of paris and mix it up...(you need to play with this to get right consistancey...pour the plaster into the pie pans and then put their hand prints in them...for the parents also to hang onto it.

Its cheap idea cause huge bag of plasters like 5 bucks.

  5. Kool Aid Ice cubes are always a treat for little kids.  Read the kool aid pack instructions for kool cubes!

  6. A park can be a caregiver's best friend.  It lets the child play in the fresh air, and tires them out so it is easy for naptime.  You can do activites with them such as coloring, making clay hand molds, making fun candies or popsicles..

You could make cards for mommy and daddy using dried macaroni noodles, string, felt shapes and other things that are easy to clean up.

  7. Teach them some songs with movements like Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Head and Shoulder Knees and Toes.  (You can probably find more on the net.)

If they're new to the room they'll be happy with the toys for a long time.

Active imaginative play, e.g.  "put on your spacesuits because we're going to fly to the moon, we're taking off, we're in outerspace, etc. etc."

    A snack.

"Painting" with shaving cream as long as they're old enough that they won't eat it.  Also make a sand box in a big rubbermaid container with lots of toys to use or the same idea but with water or with water and bubbles.

You shouldn't be completely alone with them in case one gets hurt or needs to go to the bathroom?  Will there be someone nearby?  If not, it's really not safe!
