What are some fun games that adults can play, something like scattagories?

We have game nights occasionally.  A few favorites come to mind.  Try Cranium, Mad Gab, Win, Lose, or Draw, Scene It, Oodles.

Lots to try, but these are a few of our faves.  If you just want to check what's available, go to Ebay or toys'rus site, that way you can browse, and are generally given a brief discussion of what the game entails.

I recommend European-style board games, such as Carcassonne or Settlers of Catan.  They can be played by the whole family, but are particularly good for adults because of the depth and amount of strategy involved.  We have regular game nights with many of our friends; in addition to the two games above, we often play things like Ticket to Ride, Puerto Rico, Blue Moon City, Citadels, Mr. Jack, Battlelore, Shadows Over Camelot, Cleopatra, and Betrayal at the House on the Hill.
