Question:

What are some fun/interesting places in Montgomery, AL?

I have my boyfriend and my six month anniversary coming up in September, so I'm looking for ideas of things to do. We know that we're going to have dinner at The Olive Room, but before/after that, I don't know.

We agreed that we would both love to just sit on the grass somewhere and listen to some live music, maybe sip some coffee. I can't find anything like this going on, though. We also really like parks and museums.

So does anyone know of anything going on in the Montgomery area? Also, if there's anything a little...different, I'm open to suggestions (like maybe visiting an animal shelter).

And last thing, we're going to have dinner at The Olive Room, but are there any other restaurants worth checking out? I would like to take him to India Palace to try some authentic Indian food. That's the only one I know of, though.

Any help is appreciated.

  1. Hello. My wife and I are new to the area and I have been racking up things to do!

One restaurant is Kubuki. Great sushi! It's off 85 on exit 9.

There is always a Shakespear play going on.

Ballet, the museum of fine art.

There is really not much to do! And I advise you not to go just wondering around here! It can can get really ghetto really quick!!

But exits 3, 6, & 9 are about the only places you would probably go.

If you have time to travel a little ways there is really cool cavern about an hour and fifteen minutes north. Desoto Caverns. Worth checking out!

And take the tour of downtown. It costs a buck and you take a trolley and get off and on as much as you like! It starts @ the visitor's/convention center.

Just let me know if you have any other questions. I would be more than happy to help as much as possible.
