What are some fun.......?

Question

.........at home things for kids to do this summer.........

I want my kids (ages 5 and 10) to stay busy this summer and have fun doing it. I was wondering what are some of the little fun things you do for your kids or just some things you think would be fun. So I can get some more ideas.....

Here are a few that I do......I draw a city out of chalk for my daughter to ride her bike in and stop at all the shops.

I do a scavenger hunt, where I draw a simple map of my backyard and make north south east and west directions and count out the paces from the patio to the hidden item. My son is 10 and still loves to do that.

I need more ideas for outdoor fun........

My sister an I used to keep ourselves busy, but going to museums and local parks is always a good thing to keep them busy. Teaching the younger one to ride a bike could be a good thing to do. Painting, or making these stained glass things you can make are fun. They are like these plastic beads of different colors that you put into the metal design and then put it in the stove. You could probably find them at a craft store.

You can have like a water party right at your house!! My sister did that for her b-day one year & we all had a blast!!! =] You can play water limbo where you take the hose & the water shoots out & they go under it! Take water balloons & toss them back & fourth (they can prob. do that with their friends) Whoever dropps the balloon first is out & you keep going on with the game until thears only two people tossing the water balloon. Umm... I think thats it but if I think of anymore, I'll let you know! Good luck! I hope your kids summer is as good as when I played these games one summer! God Bless! =]

-just put on the sprinkler and let them run!

-Water fights are fun too; water balloons and water guns can work for this

-There is a product called sidewalk paint and it's like chalk in paint form and this can be really fun

-Teach them how to garden. Make it a family thing - either grow pretty flowers or vegetables!

ok i am 12 yrs old and i LOVE going to like races and stay at friends houses...also when i am bored i usally go jump on the trampoline and swing and all that fun creative stuff.

Have them help you make a picnic lunch and let them set it up in the yard.  If you have a local library nearby, they frequently have summer activities and crafts and you can sign them up for free. Give them squirt guns, or a sprinkler to play with. Lots of kids like collecting bugs in one of those little mesh bug houses and watching them for awhile before letting them go. Play catch. Give them a wiffle ball and bat and teach them how to play baseball. Have them grow their own flowers or vegetables (in a container, or in the ground, whatever you have space for) Give them bubbles. Go to the zoo,movies,have friends over,go to the park,watch movies,play bored games,go to the pool or buy a small pool,go threw the spricklers,dance around outside,hide and go seek. I hope this helped! I am 11(near the age of your son) and need ideas for summer and i think im going to take some my own ideas hehe!
