What are some fun things a 5 year old likes to do.

i am baby sittinng my 5 year old nephew tommrow and he wont tell me what he wants to do. so any ideas that 5 year old kid with lot of energy would like to do???

If it's hot get a hosepipe and do some water play.

Go to the park to run on some of that energy.

You could take some new games or art crafts. It's fun for them to try learning to play new games.

Make play dough! I did that with the three kids I watch. Imagine three spatulas stirring at once. They loved that. It's really easy to make and isn't all that messy. Just be sure you control the food coloring or it will get messy. Also the orange koolaid will give the playdough a nice smell and not alter the color too much.

5 yr olds like to color, play with legos, video games (but I wouldn't encourage too much of that). Maybe if the parents will let you you could bring over a cookie mix with lots of decorations and sprinkles, and you could have fun making them together. Just fill your day with lots of little activities. I babysit a 6 yr old and a 3 yr old and ALL they ever want to do is play red light green light (I tought them this game so its my fault), but prolly won't work with one kid. You could play with the sprinkler at this time of year too, or just spray eachother with the hose.

so yea im surrounded with 5 year olds and around that age(my nieces and nephews) whom i sometimes babysit!! i kno they lik going outside to play wit a soccer ball or anyball, going on the swing, others lik to stay in the house and watch cartoons that come on in the morning, play hide and go seek around the house! one of my nephews that is 5 plays the video games and watches super hero movies ALOT like spider man or superman!! good luck!

They like to play with their toys and eat when their hungary and if they act fussy put them to bed if they don't cooperate pick him/her up and carry them to their bed and lay them down, if thay get back up do the same thing over and over, they'll get the message.
