  1. *Bubbles

    *Sidewalk chalk (the big chunky sticks)

    *finger paints

    *a ball to play with in the yard, girls like those too! Why else would they come in purple, aqua, pink and other girly colors along side the boy preferred colors?

    *a swing for toddler age

    *a sandbox (be sure it has a lid and buy sterilized play sand)

    *a pinwheel (check a dollar store somewhere for one)

    *a kids toy gardening tool set

    * a play wheelbarrow

    * make tunnels to crawl around in using boxes duct taped together at the seems or buy one that pops up

    * a playhouse

    * an inflatible ball pit (Little tykes makes one that is fairly inexpensive, around $20 and they also have an individual 8x8 size inflatible bounce house for a little more)

  2. i have a one year old and she gets pretty bored during the day because her big sisters are at school. we usueally go to the park and have a picinic. she loves that. and we also go to her infant swimming lesson class

  3. go walking in the yard and let her explore the fun new things that are growing. plant a few flowers in a pot so she can water them and look after them. do some cooking with her, i am serious, two year olds love to help, mine always helped pour ingredients in the bowl and mix. make some play doh and sit outside and play with it. make a bird feeder for the back yard and watch the birds come eat from it. go to the park now that winter is over and you can get out more before the heat of summer comes. collect some different rocks and put them in a small container of water to see how they change colour. kids love to "wash"  things. yu can count them and line themup and make patterns with them. get some chalk and draw on some cement somewhere at your house. play ball games. hide things in the yard to go find, kind of like an easter egg hunt but simpler. just hide little objects that the child can find easily.  just a few things , i assume you were wanting outdoor things to do. check you your local library for some books on crafty htings to make. check out enchanted learning website and other family craft sites. you can make music makers and lots of easy things from paper plates. make lunch and eat it outside in the yard like a picnic. always fun. no matter what you do keep it simple and let the kids have fun. the simpler and less complicated it is the more they like it because what they ultimately want is to be spending time with you.  my "two year olds" are all grown up and sometimes i miss that simple time of life. enjoy!!!!

  4. Bubbles are always good. You could take her to a park near your house, you could have a tea party/ picnic. The last thing I would suggust would be chalk but that is a little messy. Paint could be fun too.

  5. Let the toddlers become little farmers. Cut out some pieces of a sprouting potato and the top parts of a few carrots and place them in an unused plate. Add some soil and pebbles. Spray it with water to wet the soil sufficiently and then place the plate in a shade, away from direct sunlight. Your toddlers can enjoy a learning experience of spring at work, transforming their enterprise into little saplings and then plants.

    Spring season has the added attraction of occasional rains. Let the kids pay homage to the rain by creating their own clouds. All you need is a big sheet of white paper and some glue. Use a pair of scissors to cut a few cloud shaped pieces out of the paper. Glue two pieces each one on top of the other around the edges leaving a small opening on one side. Help your kids to stuff the clippings with some soft tissues such as toilet paper. When it is properly dried, the shapes could be hung from the ceiling with threads to enjoy the scenery of puffy white clouds floating around.

    Another rain related activity is to play a variation of the Duck Goose game. Many toddlers can participate in this game at the same time. Cut out some card boards in the shape of puddles and cover these with twinkling tin foils. Place these on the ground or floor and now the toddlers can begin their game.

    Or, let the kids make their own flowers or create a bird with their own hands! Place the toddlers’ palms on some pieces of colored paper and trace the outlines. Cut out these outlines and then roll up the fingers into curls. Then make round shape of the palm like a cylinder with the fingers slanting outwards. Then glue each of these shapes around a drinking straw with glued cut out leaves. Now, these shapes look like lily flowers and you can make a bouquet by tying some of these flowers together. Alternatively, the kids can make their own birds by sticking feathers to the cut out shapes of some birds.

    1. Duck Duck Goose with Puddles!

    This is a springtime spin off the typical child’s game of Duck Duck Goose. Best with several toddlers or your whole family. Cut out water-droplet shaped cardboard pieces, or simple round shapes that look like puddles on the ground, to avoid having a sharp point. Wrap the cardboard in tin foil, and you have a shimmery puddle that won’t get anyone wet or muddy! Once everyone has their own puddle, you can have better placing for the Duck Duck Goose circle, and a specific spot for the two runners to reach for!

    2. Spring Inside Planting

    Cut off some carrot tops and put each one in a dish with some pebbles. Add just enough water to cover the bottom of the carrot. Hide the dishes in a place where there is not too much sun. In just a few days, the carrot tops will begin sprouting and turn into plants.

    3. Clouds

    Cut two cloud shapes out of white finger-paint paper. Glue (or staple) around edges except for a small opening. Your children can stuff it with toilet paper. Dry and hang the draft with yarn and paper clips. Now you have puffy white clouds!

    4. Hand Flowers

    Trace outlines of your toddler’s hand on paper. Cut out the hand shapes. Using a pencil, roll the fingers up so that they curl. Curl the hand shape vertically into a sort of trumpet/lily shaped cylinder with the finger curls curling outwards. Staple the flower onto a drinking straw, along with cutout leaves. With four of five of these, you will have a nice bouquet!

    5. Furry Bird:

    Cut out the shape of a bird and let your children glue feathers to the bird.

    6. Pudding paint!

    The materials you will need are: Instant pudding, food coloring, small containers for pudding, long sheet of bulletin board paper or heavy craft paper, soap and water.

    What you do:

    Prepare pudding and tape paper to a table. You can pre mix the food coloring with the pudding or let your children do it. Give each child their own container of pudding, then let them use their fingers to do the rest. Ask your them to draw a bird, nest, flower or any other springtime shape you can think of!

    have fun

  6. Play date, parks, swimming classes, museum , aquarium , beach...............Zoo.

  8. oh man, ribbon dancers are so great for little kids in springtime!

    i don't know if they still make them, but they're easy to make on your own...a dowel rod that is about 2 feet long, with a piece of fabric ribbon taped, glued, or stapled to the end. the ribbon should be, like 2 or 3 yards long (use a whole spool!) at least, so that it can swirl around and be fun!

  9. bubbles and bikes.

  11. Check the freebies first ... your local book store or library for story time for the young ones.  You can even look their story time schedules up online sometimes.  There will be kids there her age & many times they bring in a character to amuse the kids.  Check into the local party gym type of places.  Kids that age, love to be around other kids!  The local aquarium, zoo, pet shop!  Look into the parks & recreation programs to see the freebies the towns offer  (they say freebies ... you pay for them in your taxes!)  There are a bunch of neat stuff, it's just knowing where to find them.  Look into local Mommy & Me groups.  Many times it's best to find out from other mother's right in your area what they do & what's available locally.  Good Luck .... Happy Spring!
