What are some fun things i can do with my Chihuahua?

Question

Our walks are very short, she doesn't really enjoy walks because she gets tired and it is 100 degrees out today. fetch gets pretty boring too. what are some things i can do with her, because she looks really sad and bored?!?

we have a 10 year old chihuahua and he loves the laser pointer he chases it all over the house thats what we do when it to hot outside if your house is to light during the day for the laser get a sturdy string and tie his favorite toy to the end of it and run through the house with him you get exercises and so does your dog it all works out good luck and have fun:)

i have 2 and the female is part chi. and part foxt. and the other is full chi. and he (the senconed 1) was boared so we got him a playmate the first dog i named so i think u can try to get a male dog and jus get 1 fixed or wat ever and it may cheer her up, it worked for us

This may sound silly, but turn on animal planet or a nature show.  Even if its not other dogs on the T.V. the exotic sounds she will hear may spark some interest.  If she gets along with other dogs/animals I suggest making some play dates with friends. Also they sell toys where you can stick some peanut butter inside of it and give it to the dog.  It can keep most dogs occupied for a good while. By the way, dogs like to sleep in the day time and the weather does affect their mood.

You should probably take her to the park or maybe even to a petsmart, somewhere where they allow animals inside. Lets her pick out a toy she likes, then play with her after you've gone shopping. If it's really hot outside it's probably best you stay in side. Make her Popsicles if it's really hot!

Mix 32 oz. of plain yogurt, 1 mashed banana, 2 tbs peanut butter, and 2 tbs honey. After you mix them together you an either use a ice pop mold or an ice cube tray to freeze them!

On really hot days we give our Chis homemade popsicles, they chase them around their bowls for a good 20 minutes. Just freeze a little chicken broth or yogurt.

Take her to a off leash dog park or put her in a purse and take her to the mall. Have your friends dogs over and let them play.

Chihuahuas love to chew on things. Get her a toy and wave it in her face, she will eventually cling onto it and start chewing, if you wave it around all over she will go onto her back and wrestle the toy. Also running and getting her to chase you is a good idea.

Throw a small blanket or towel over her and then call her to come out.  My chi LOVES this.  Sometimes I have to help him out, but usually he finds his way out and I just PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE him.
