  1. Rent a karaoke machine

  2. My kids always love it when we do a scavenger hunt... You can be very creative.  One way is to make a list of things to find. We live in the country, so I always have them find specific shaped leaves,  a "stick shaped like a y" a yellow flower, an acorn, etc. The first team to complete the list "wins". Another cute way is to lead them from location to location with written clues- e.g. Where do we spend our time on a hot summer day? (the pool) they go to the pool and find another note leading them somewhere else like the garage, then the bathroom, then the mailbox etc.- You make the final place where the "prize" can be found.. The clues can be made to be more challenging for 12 year olds (of course). Good luck!

  3. Okay, First you have to pick a theme.

    for example 70's night maybe.

get everyone to wear brightly coloured clothes wigs flares etc

do you have a local church hall or community center?

hire it for a disco it'll only be about 20 - 30 pounds (40-60 dollars)

talk to your parents about it :)

    or another idea:

you're the same age as me - meaning you were born in the nineties - have a nineties night - remember everything we used to have????

S club seven make up mobiles jelly shoes those long fringes that covered your eyes? remember that??

check out this vid for 90's kid inspiration :)  - http://www.bebo.com/FlashBox.jsp?FlashBo...

    have funxx

  4. have a sleepover.

    go skydiving ![haha kidding]

but honestly, you mentioned basically everything you can do. if it's not yours, than i guess a surprise party would work. ive done a couple of those and they're really fun!;)

  5. A jumper :) sorry thats all I got..

  6. How about a dance party? Get the most popular songs on iTunes burn on some CDs and put them in a CD player. (That doesnt cost much of anything) THEN you can also go to like Walmart in the party section and they have these light strobes that are as cheap as $10.00 and work great. Buy two of them and put them in the room AND wa la....you made your own dance party room.

You could also take the kids wrapping with toilet paper at someone you knows house. Kids always find that fun. If u dont want to use toilet paper...go fork some ones yard and stick forks in the grass AND chalk the drive ways with sidewalk chalk.

You could also make a scavenger hunt. You can make a few clues that involve some of the popular places in the neighborhood, split the kids in two groups, take two cars or just walk, and race to see who can finish the hunt 1st. Which ever group wins give them a small prize.

Also...You could make it a Making Movies night. You can split up in teams and make funny videos then put them on the computer. (my lil sister/brother is 10/11 and when their friends spend the night they LOVE to make up videos...it keeps them BUSY for the whole night)

If they are interested in a particular food (like in my house we LOVE mexican food) You could plan a special food and let the kids make it themselves. Maybe like tiny pizzas (each kid make their own), Nachos (each kid come up with the best combo of nacho toppings), etc.

ALSO...I know 12 seems old. BUT Im telling you if you rented or bought one of those BIG blow-up waterslides...those kids would have a BLAST with it. They also have this one that is a racing game and its a blow-up slip and slide.

You could also do a game night. Scene-It and Catch Phrase and Deal Or No Deal games like that are ALL very entertaining. Split up in groups and play games like that...that will take up some time. (BUT I wouldnt use those old games like Monopoly and stuff)

Have a THEMED party. (Hawaiian, Celebrity, Disco, 50s, etc) Those are always fun. Persuade the kids to dress up in whatever theme you pick, get goodie bags, decorations, and music that fit the theme. ALSO come up with a few games to play. (EXAMPLE: Hawaiian...you could play Limbo)

Hope this helps! I know how hard planning a party can be! JUST remember no matter what u pick...have fun and dont stress over what needs to be done. :) Hope your 12 yr old has a GREAT party!
