I am going to London on Sunday for two weeks to take a Shakespeare class. I am 19 years old and want to make this already expensive trip worthwhile. I will be with other college students and we want to know any good spots to go out at night or for dinner. Also, I'd love to know about secret spots that aren't very touristy. Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks!

  1. YOU CANT VISIT LONDON WITHOUT GOING TO HARRODS

  2. there are many small musuems in london ( as well as the many larger ones)

    - the Pollock Toy Musuem was interesting with toys from all over the world and through the ages.

The Theater musuem in convent gardens is good too.

Check out any good London guide for the more smaller or unsual places

If you have a nice day take a picnic to St james Park ( it's abit quieter than the more well known Hyde Park)

  3. Well, i have been to London and the great Eye of London is fantastic, it is really worth the long wait. Also you could go visit the crowned Jewels they are beautiful. There is an amazing restaurant in London, i forget the name but it is right across from the Scotland yard Police Station.

  4. The Tower of London is a must and at night you will like the Theatre district, down Shaftsbury Ave to Picadilly Circus.  Chinatown is near there where there is food with flavor.  Venture out of London to Warwick Castle and Windsor Castle as well.  Do a London Walk as well.  They can be fun.  The Zoo is pretty good but I would skip the Aquarium.  If you like noodle dishes, Wagamama is pretty good.  Many pubs have good food and the one on the Thames River next to the replica of Frances Drakes cutter ship,( I forget the name of the pub and ship) but it is easy to find.  Go to the "Church" near Camden Market on Sunday morning for a good time.  It's a bar not a religious establishment. Go to Camden Market on Saturday morning and Covent Garden Market in the afternoon.  Go to a soccer game, one of the lesser known teams because the major ones are very expensive.  Chistlehurst Caves is pretty cool too. Take in a play if ya can.  Spam a lot was good and so was Avenue Q.  Hampton Court is a cool place to visit.  Climb to the top of St Paul's and visit Westminster Abbey too.    London is a city with endless things to do.  You can't get bored in London.

  5. the Eye of London was a lot of fun. we also watched the changing of the guards, which was kinda cool.

  6. Madame tussauds wax works is good!

  7. some great sights:

    - london eye - you might have to queue for a while (but hey it's our national sport! haha)

    - camden lock market - quirky, weird and fun, you could get cool souvenirs here

    - the houses of parliament - historical

    - the london dungeons - says it all really!

    - tate modern and tate britain

    - you could go to madame tussauds if you wanted to be a typical tourist, nut i don't rate it: it's overpriced and to be honest a bit rubbish!

    - oxford street - good shopping

my favourite place to eat is called the 'New Tayyabs' if you like Indian food, then i guarantee you'll love this place. and as a bonus it's incredibly cheap (especially for London) i don't know if your american, but if you are, then this would definately be a huge advantage to you because everything in england is reletively expensive compared to the US. anyway, here is the website, so you can find where it is: http://www.tayyabs.co.uk/
