What are some fun things to do in Nice, France?

My girlfriend and I are going to Nice and are looking for suggestions for things to do while we are there - restaurants, nightclubs, museums, etc.

Do you have to stay in Nice the whole time? Or will you have a car or be able to do a day tour. Nice has expensive shopping and expensive dining. Nice city, but not as much to see as say Canne, Provence or Monte Carlo (to name a few).

I would suggest checking out the link below. Gives you an idea of activities in Nice but also if you have a free day there are lots of areas close by. Most folks do not stay in Nice for more than a couple days, being that there are so many things to do outside of the city.

I was there for only 1 1/2 days early this spring so I can't tell you any specifics...except that it is gorgeous!  Just enjoy the beach, the food is great, the shopping is great (and expensive)...we had a wonderful time just exploring.  Have a great trip.  Be safe and have fun!
