Tommorow my french and spanish classes [both taught by same teacher] are going to Quebec City for 2 days. When we first get there we have 2 hours to explore Old Quebec on our own with friends. What are some cool fun places to check out? What are some cheap good places to get food at perferably [sp] American type foods? [not mcdonalds hate that place eww] Thanks! xD

  1. Seriously, that guy was a tard! Nothing in quebec, whatever!

Hope its not too late but you want to go on Grande Allee which is the road with all the cool restaurents and the clubs. Try to climb uptown, thats where the cool stuff is, go on the Abraham plains they are beautiful.

Youre a vegetarian but are you a health nut also. I HIGHLY recommend having Poutine, yes its fattening as all h**l but its awesome and almost exclusive to quebec. You can find it at ashtons (on grande allee) or at any small cart restaurent that sells all that food that you wont eat.

Poutine is french fries (usually hand cut) gravy (dont know if it has meet products) and cheese. (again no-go for vegans) Its an experience and will nourish you for a 2 hours of walking through the QC.

Too bad you are not going at night because the Dagobert is the place to go (3 strory night club)

Have fun in the city. Its my favourite place in the world and you will find plenty of cafes to eat at with vegetarian foods ! Dont worry, and i suggest that you dont plan ahead, just stop somewhere and try it out! There are subways all over the place if you like that, The food there is similar to american food btw, no worries!

Dont forget your Merci's and S'il vous plais! (Thank you and Please respectively!

Stick uptown! near the water and plains!

    :) Elle

  2. What does this guy mean - there are no places to go in Quebec City?!?

    What a liar!

See for yourself once you get there!

And what is a Spanish class going to learn in a predominantly French speaking town?!?

    What a strange idea!

By the way, if you don't like fast food restaurants such as McDonald's, just go to a little cafe somewhere - I'm sure you'll find quite a few in Quebec City!

Plenty of exquisite little boutiques too!

Just keep your eyes peeled and don't forget your camera!

Have fun and be safe and responsible!

As for vegetarian food, though not vegetarian myself, I enjoyed eating here:
