One suggestion I have is to visit Quebec, particularly Montreal and Quebec City. Quebec is a very interesting and unique place because it has a French culture, yet it's distinctly French-Canadian. The people are great and speak both French and English. Not to mention, Montreal smoked meat there is absolutely delicious!

In terms of Canadian history, Quebec plays a hugely controversial part, because of its French leanings and the separatist sentiments that once came from there. It's great fun learning about this part of Canada.

Certainly, also look into Toronto, Vancouver and the Rockies; all other great places to check out as well!
