I already know about creative ladies ministry web page. Is there any board or group games that are appropriate and fun that you know of and where could I purchase them? I am looking for ones that aren't so typical, I'm tired of the worn out old favortites if you know what I mean. We are having a fun night and all we are going to be doing is playing games so I am really digging for alot of them. Thanks in advance for your answers.

  1. While this question ended up in this category was probably due to Yahoo’s AI associating the word “games” with the Olympics.

Jo’s answer and the polite response I found hilarious.

Since the Q ended up in the Olympics it would be appropriate to have several little games or activities going on.  Some of these may be the same old games you are used to with a twist.

    1) Bible verses speed test.  Get some stopwatches.  Pick some people to time.  They will rotate them with others.  Time groups of 4 or so to find specific Bible verses.  It is even more fun to make them read them as well.  A room full of women reading the Bible out loud as fast as they can (and tripping over their own tongues) should get the blood flowing.  Separate out the “winners” for the semifinals.  You can do a double elimination tournament so that the loser’s bracket can still go on.  Make up some Gold, Silver and Bronze Pendants.  Please reassure the “losers” that they are not going to h**l.  All participants get a ribbon.

    2) Bible verses depth:  Musical Bibles.  Play praise music that randomly stops.

(The person controlling it can not see the group)  Each person may only have one Bible in hand at a time. You can have them clap their hands when empty.  Start with one Bible less than people.  Have a list of verses. (Your choice if they are ones that they should know).  When the music stops the person without a Bible has to recite the verse.  If they get it right, then the last one to get a Bible is excused.  If they get it wrong, then the group has to read the verse, each person reading one word around the circle, while the person is excused.

    3) Spelling Bee:  Put words on pieces of paper ahead of time in a basket.  There are a lot of names in the Bible that are hard enough to pronounce let alone try and spell.

    4) Pick characters in the Bible.  Write them on nametags.  Randomly select the nametags as people enter and place them on their backs.  People may hint about, but not say what is the name on your back.  Have votes for best hints.

One goal is to figure out what the name is on your own back.

Another goal is to make a list of character names and have everyone try to write the persons name that goes with it.  This will encourage people to mingle, introduce them, and to try to come up with Bible verses that refer to the characters.

    5) Bible Trivia.  What was the birth order of Jesus?  How many of each animal did Moses take on the ark?  What color is the Red Sea?  What body of water did Noah part?

  2. Pole Dancing lessons.

Its not rude or anything like its just great fun!

I did it with a bunch of people including my mother and loved every bit of it.  Excellent night, never fail.
