Question:

What are some good Asian-fusion places in midtown Manhattan?

For her 16th birthday party, my friend wants to go to an Asian Fusion/Pan-Asian restaurant in New York City with about 10 people. It has to be in midtown, and should be up-scale but not super-expensive (average of about $30-$40 per entree.) She also wants it to have nice/cool looking decor.

Any suggestions of a good place to go?

Thanks!

  1. Check out Blue Chili located at 251 West 51st Street (Broadway & 8th Ave).

  2. There's a Korean block on around 32nd St. and 6th Ave. I've been there a few times and they were great. Averages out to be about $20 per person each time. But make sure you ask what's in each dish before you order. A lot of times those menus can be quite arbitrary.

  3. Tao is pretty popular.  It is on 57th and 5th.  It is very trendy.

  4. Asia De Cuba on Madison Ave.

  5. A little above midtown are two, Tao in high 50's I believe, very crowded, but excellent.

Much better, on 61st Btw Park &Mad. Gheshia, absolutely fantastic.
