What are some good Dance Recital themes?

Question

The studio I dance at has already done 'Sweet Dreams' which consisted of Dreams...I guess. And 'Fun & Fantasy' which was a bunch of different songs. This past year we did Decades and now my teacher needs a new theme. So if you have any ideas and song examples please let me know!

We did "A Tribute to New York City" one year...songs from Broadways shows, like "Seasons of Love" from Rent, songs from The Lion King, The Little Mermaid show, Phantom of the opera, etc.  

Songs about NYC... "New York, New York", "New York State of Mind"- Billy Joel, "Lullaby of Broadway", "On Broadway", "New York City"- Norah Jones  and general songs about cities, like "Traffic in the Sky- Jack Johnson.

Another one we've  done is "Colors" where all of the songs have a color in them, or mention colors.  Songs like...

True Colors- Cyndi Lauper

Colors of the Wind- Vanessa L. Williams

Black Cat- Janet Jackson

Nights in White Satin- Moody Blues

Lady in Red

White Flag- Dido

Yellow polka-dot bikini

Black Velvet

Yellow Submarine

The Pink Panther theme

Purple People-eater, etc

It would help if you'd say what kind of dance it is, but....

♥ Broadway songs, which is especially good if there's musical theater.

♥ Dace throw out the centuries (My personal favorite).

♥ A Barbie the am

♥ A ballet of any of these: Alice In Wonderland, Any Disney princess cause most of them were ballets before Disney movies, Bambi.

Your One In a Million.

And just do your regular dances and then at the end have a studio performance to Your One In a Million.

You could do like a school thing. you could have dances with different themes from school like preppies, cheerleaders, janitors, popular kids, bullies, nerds, and teachers. Hope that helps.

maybe disney. haha idk. my studio has done like a growing up theme, where we do just songs about different stages of your life. or love, which is obvious. love songs. broadway, around the world, seasons... yeah. you just have to get creative.

you could do weather...

dance to  songs like its raining men, let it snow, heatwave, tornado, frozen. things like that !

Or things in the news

Dance to War, to like Charlie brown to represent the comics, and like a weather song for weather and so on.
