My Favourites:

1) Taiyou no Uta (Yui is a professional singer and the songs in this are fantastic-it is a sad story though)

2) Waterboys (A bunch of guys doing syncronized swimming- need I say more! very funny)

3) Hula Girls (kind like waterboys: take an obscure sport, parents who are against you doing it, practise really hard against all objects and finally succeed- still, I liked it)

MY FAVORITES:

1. The Hotel Venus - its actually a movie where the characters speak in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and English. My favorite movie of all time.

2. Hanabi

3. Any Studio Ghibli or Miyazaki films (Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, etc.)

4. Rashomon or really any movie by Akira Kurosawa as they're considered classics (I especially like 'Ikiru' but Seven Samurai is also very famous)

5. Tokyo Godfathers

6. After Life

7. Gohatto

8. Pulse

9. Uzumaki
