What are some good LA radio stations I might like?

I like the great older alternative/rock stuff and the newer indie music KROQ plays sometimes, but can't stand the 3 Doors Down cookiecutter hardcorexxx "we put the x*x in hardcore" kind of bands that also fill up their top played lists. Also, the KROQ repetition is getting to me. Yes, I love Sublime and Nirvana, I'm glad we all do. But come on, try an interesting local act half the time instead, it's not it's going to ruin our day if the song doesn't rock or remind us of middle school. We already know the order of things that Bradley Nowell saw on April 29, 1992. It wouldn't hurt us to branch out a little.

ANYWAY... In general, I love the Eels, LCD Soundsystem, Blackalicous, Radiohead, which is enough information for Pandora to know me as a person so I assume you'll be fine.

Help me out, I'm a man without a solid alternative to NPR. Keep me from choosing between pledge drives and Three Doors Down.

no idea if dooblet.com correctly understands NPR, but it suggests to consider "ed gordon"

Ever notice how, when a radio station gets popular in Los Angeles, its owner pulls it off the air? L.A. is the reason why Internet radio was invented. The station owners in the area love to experiment around with all different kinds of genres.

Even Dr. Demento, who is from the area, hasn't had an affiliate in over ten years!

Your musical tastes represent about 1% of the general population, not that I'm am saying that's bad.  Just that your tastes aren't mainstream and that is what radio has to be in order to attract the most amount of listeners to get ratings.  

That said, how about Indie 103.1?  I used to know a chick that worked there, seemed like a decent station at the time.

95.5 KLOS Be sure to listen in the evening to JIM LADD, for he takes all his listeners on a magic carpet ride!! All week except for Saturday night, and Sunday night!!  Everynite until 2am!  He's the best,and plays the best!
