A good persuasive speech will actively involve the audience, showing how the topic affects them, so that they will listen more carefully - relating your topic to any one of the basic needs of the audience would be a wise choice.

Basic needs e.g. self-fulfillment, self-esteem, freedom, etc.

Just base the topic of your speech on one of the 'needs', pick an issue and your own stand - then start crafting your speech. :)
