What are some good accent wall colors for a livingroom?

I have dark fruniture like brown and chocolate brown... chocolate brown curtains and fruniture im looking to spice up stuff but nothing to bright i get head aches easy or do any of you know where i can find websites to look for good accent colors? Also my room is so boring i need some colors in there too thanks! Ps please no pinks im tiard of pink stuff lol somethign that is adultish and my hunnie will like thanks

It sounds like you have a bad case of the blahs.....

Pick a contemporary mid sized rug, like a 5 by 8,  pick the colors that you like best.  Almost anything goes with brown.  Take two of the colors out of the rug and decorate.  Use the lighter color for you wall color and the darker for throw pillow and such.

I think a deep red would look nice with the brown.  The hottest color to pair with brown right now is aqua -- light or dark.

Oracle bone by Dulux - half strength - its a funky olive green and looks great -

- we have this same colour in our living room with similar furniture colours (I'm in Australia - so maybe its got a different name in the US)

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. I think a dark green like "kale green" (# 6460) would look gorgeous with the brown furnishings.
