What are some good adult vampire series for adults?

I have looked at a lot of the questions on here about vampire books and they are mostly geared toward teens. Can anyone recommend some vampire series for adults besides the Anne Rice novels?

Well theres this really good erotica vampire series called Blood red (well thats the title of the first book) also their are the bram stokers series which are good. And The Twilight Series..real good. Also the Dark series by Christine Fellan

you could try the blood tie series by jennifer armintrout. the four books in the series are:

the turning

possession

ashes to ashes

all souls' night

The Anita Blake series by Laurell k. Hamilton is really popular. (I work at a library. o.o') I've only read the first two, but I've been told that after book 7 or so, it goes downhill. It's labeled as an erotica, just so you know. You can pick up book 11 and read it on it's own if you want. They are written in such a way where each book tells it's own story, so you aren't facing the idea of being pulled into a long series.

There is also the Patricia Briggs series---Mercy Thompson. The vampires are not the major plot, but they are present. IN book two or three they become more dominate.

Woman of the Otherworld, is a series by Kelley Armstrong. It's a series told from alternating POV's. The first two are told from a werewolves pov, but after that they switch. I believe one of them is told from a vampire's perspective. Again, like Anita Blake, they can be read out of order.
