What are some good alternatives to going into the military?

Go to Canada.

Hide under a rock.

Spit on returning Iraq Vets.

Sabotage military equipment.

Accuse America of atrocities.

Invite terrorists over and apologize for anything they want you to.

Don't work and blame the government that you're poor.

Abuse your body and end up in rehab, pregnant with STD's.

AND BEST OF ALL:  BLAME GEORGE BUSH!!!!!

Try Americorps or college. With Peace Corps they normally want a college degree. Same with Teach for America.

Americorps will give you training, living stipend, educational award, and sometimes housing.

Peace Corp.

Travel.

Let me put it this way.  If you join the military now, you know where you are going to go.  If you believe in the cause, go. If you have doubts, find something more productive to do.  We are lucky.  In this day and age, we get to choose.
