What are some good animals/insects that can fight (READ DESCRIPTION)?

Question

I was thinking scorpions and cockroaches to start off, but is there any other animals that are exotic that can fight?

Because in my story Alan is a meek individual with a dim view on human life and he sort of tests how human beings can react to lifethreatening situations by using animals as his "puppets".

Of course there's some violence, I'm not sure how this story will work out, but I need some exotic animal, hopefully one that Alan will face at the end for punishment of hurting all those poor animals.

(Note: No animals will be hurt in the making of this fictional novel)

Tasmanian devils! They sound exotic, and are quite the bundles of energy. What about ostriches? They are known to peck and squabble, and kick. You could try that out. Or Maybe spiders, like huge five foot long ones, like you could make them up and pretend they come from some exotic and lush rainforest, and Alan keeps them in these huge cages. Haha, hope I helped! male beta fish are supposed to fight each other when they are stuck in the same aquarium. at least that's what i've heard...
