What are some good bars in Long Beach?

So I'm turning 21 next month, and since I'm new to the area I don't have much of an idea of what places in town are good. My friends and I like rock, and a place with a relaxed atmosphere would be a plus. And cheap. Cheap is good. I've also been talking to my friends, but I'm looking for more suggestions.

The yard house downtown long beach along with the Teki Bar are both good spots..

Pine Avenue or the Pike have plenty of places to have a drink.  If you go for happy hour prices are a lot less. Allegria has a late happy hour Sunday-Thursday.

Rockbottom has a decent bar, good beer and bar food.  

Smooths is pretty good.

"Good bars" is an oxymoron. Then you throw "cheap" into the mix!  What are you doing?  Just hang out.  Maybe walk around Belmont Shore.

Long Beach is prime territory for cheap a** dive bars. All of these places have cheap drinks and play rock, mostly alternative and punk. Places on Pine Ave and most of the places in Belmont Shore will be pricier.

Alex's Bar is a great place to see a live show and so is The Pike Bar and Fish Grill on 4th St. After 10 they play live music. Before then they have a very cool juke box. The Pike Bar is owned by the drummer from Social Distortion.

Some other cool places are the Puka Bar, V Room, Fern's, Joe Jost's, House of Hayden, Prospector Family Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge (live music after hours), Liquid Lounge, Reno Room and Dipiazza Restaurant & Lounge (live music after hours).  

Most of the places have websites or myspace pages so you look up their line up ahead of time.

Please, please, please have a designated driver. Nobody wants a DUI, trust me, they are expensive.

The best ones are in Belmont Shores.

Legend's is a cheaper one which is a lot of fun (It's a sports bar).
