He has CandyLand and Hi-Ho Cherry-O, we want to get him off his addiction to video games and more into interacting with us. He's still too young to understand monopoly, uno, and things like that.

  1. I Agree with Chutes and Ladders. It Interacts with numbers and is fun at the same time. Also a very cheap price.

But, If you would like to get the young boy learning at an early age get Scrabble Junior. Almost the same as Scrabble but for the younger ones.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I would say chess, it has been prooven to greatly increase development, and has even been implemented in the core curriculum in some schools.

It is also a very exciting game, and your child can go to tournoments and meet new frinds.

If your child becomes good he can also make it his/her proffesion.

  3. My 4-year old son likes all the ones listed!  Trouble, Chutes & Ladders, Candy Land...

He also really likes Guess Who?  And the child's version of Trionimos.

It's fun providing him with games that help reinforce some deeper thinking!

  4. Chess!!!!!!

  5. Card games are great because you can do so many things with one deck of cards -- memory games, slap jack, go fish, old maid, and so forth -- you can find the rules online.

Monopoly jr., clue jr., and other jr. versions of the adult games.

    Aggravation

    Chinese Checkers

    Checkers

At 4 and 5 let him change the rules around a bit. Don't let him cheat, but let him enjoy himself. When my brother and I were 4 and 5 we played Monopoly all the time. We had no idea how to play so we played our own version, but we had a great time.

  6. Chutes and Ladders, Sorry (different theme ones like disney to make it more appealing), and card games like Crazy Eights and Go Fish are good games.

  7. trouble, hooks and ladders,
