   Boardgamegeek.com has thousands of great board games that will apeal to all types of interests. It really depends on what you are interested in playing and who is playing. You will have to go to a specialty game store or order some of these or look online (try www.thoughthammer.com, or funagain.com, but these are some of the most fun games out there.    In this game you are collecting cards to connect train routes across the us and complete tickets for points.
   
   Carcassonne www.riograndegames.com
   
   In this game yopu ar building the countryside and cities of the French city Carcassonne. Like building a puzzle each player picks a square tile and lays it down, each tile will start, continue, or complete; the roads cities and farmland when an area is complete you score.
   
   Settlers of Catan www.mayfairgames.com
   
   Players are trying to build towns and roads on the island of Catan. Each turn you collect resource cards you then trade these cards with each other in an effort to spend them to make roads and connect to cities and port towns.

   Life and Monopoly are great and fun because of the element of chance in them. (the dice)
   
   However if you want a game where you know you won because you are simply BETTER, not just luckier than your opponents. I strongly suggest learning CHESS, its my favorite because it is one of the only games that are almost all SKILL. thats why most do not play.

   Monopoly is fun, because it is easy to learn, and somewhat fast-paced.
   
   Life is a bit slower, but quite time consuming, so if you have a lot of time, you can get that one.
   
   I would get both for any event.

    Good question =0) Well my hubby and I were just introduced to Cranium and we love it! It is really fun and when you are having fun time goes by really quick. I highly believe you will like it. Another one that is similar is a gameboard called "Guesstures". Good luck and have plenty of fun.

    Go to www.amazon.com and read the descriptions and especially the reviews and ratings of the various board games.  Amazon.com is the best place to see what board games other people like and don't like.  www.epinions.com is also a place to read reviews of board games, but it's not as good as Amazon.
