I need one for a girl and one for a guy. It could be any name(s) as long as they are not too common. Thanks!

  1. Common practice for me when I'm searching for character names is to sit on it for a little while. For now, go ahead and write, substituting pronouns or other queues for yourself as character names (he, she, girl#1, etc.).

Sometimes names can be a big part of your story, and I personally like to have a name that fits my character's personality. You know how some people say, "Really, your name's so-and-so? Because you look like a some-other-name" ? I don't like that to happen with my characters, so what I do is to go ahead and write. This way you'll be able to get into your character's heads a little more and get to know them. Also, make a character analysis sheet for each character, no matter how small or large their role in your story is (this is great for many things, not just deciding on a name). The more you know about your characters, the easier it is to find out what name would really fit them.

    Hope this helps.
