  1. I love the Inkheart trilogy. I'm 16 and they're just so good.

    I'd recommend them definitely.

Here's the plot - "Meggie’s father, Mo, has an wonderful and sometimes terrible ability. When he reads aloud from books, he brings the characters to life--literally. Mo discovered his power when Maggie was just a baby. He read so lyrically from the the book Inkheart, that several of the book’s wicked characters ended up blinking and cursing on his cottage floor. Then Mo discovered something even worse--when he read Capricorn and his henchmen out of Inkheart, he accidentally read Meggie’s mother in.

Meggie, now a young lady, knows nothing of her father's bizarre and powerful talent, only that Mo still refuses to read to her. Capricorn, a being so evil he would "feed a bird to a cat on purpose, just to watch it being torn apart," has searched for Meggie's father for years, wanting to twist Mo's powerful talent to his own dark means. Finally, Capricorn realizes that the best way to lure Mo to his remote mountain hideaway is to use his beloved, oblivious daughter Meggie as bait! "

  3. pendragon by dj machale

  4. Harry Potter. All books are good in my opinion. I recommend starting at the beginning.

  5. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

I read these from about age 10, and would still read them now at 20.  They're fantasy, but not quite as in depth as books like the Lord of the Rings, so they're very easy to understand, but still very interesting and engaging for any age.

Plus, it's always better to have read a book before the movie comes out in my opinion, so get a headstart on the rest of the Narnia movies. :)

  6. series of unfortunate events all of the books in the series are good their by lemony snicket

  7. Holes - Louis Sacher

    Refugee boy - Benjamin Zephaniah

    Skellig - David Almond

    The hobbit - JRR. Tolkien

Pawn of prophecy - David Eddings

    Magician - Raymond E. Feist

My Teacher Is an Alien - Bruce Coville

The Indian in the Cupboard - Lynne Reid Banks

  8. i would say 'the lost' series written by gillian cross or the alex rider series by Anthony Horowitz

  9. My Favorites:

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan:

    The Lightning Thief

    The Sea of Monsters

    The Titan's Curse

    The Battle of The Labyrinth

    The Cronus Chronicles, Anne Ursu:

    The Shadow Thieves

    The Siren Song

    Pendragon, D.J. MacHale:

    (too many to name)

First two series are greek mythology

    Last is big time Sci-fi

  10. Try "This Lullaby" by Sarah Dessen, since you seem to like Sarah Dessen. :-)

Also, books by the author Natasha Friend are very good for your age group. "Perfect" is my favorite by her.

  11. City of Ember, very interesting and fun.  It's sort of like a more accessible Giver.  The Giver is also good, but hard for a 13 year old to catch the deeper meaning maybe.  City of Ember is also a 3-book series.

  12. "Tuck Everlasting" Natalie Babbitt

    "The Black Stallion" Walter Farley

And definitely pick some Harry Potter books, if you haven't read them already!

Oh, Narnia too - I loved "The Horse and His Boy," but then again, I am a horse nut...

You might want to consider dropping Breaking Dawn, though. It ruined the entire series for me.
