  6. The  Book Thief-Markus Zusak (The best book that I have ever read. #1!)

I am The Messenger-Markus Zusak (Slightly romantic, but it has a great story line. So meaningful!)

    Artemis Fowl series (really good)

Crispin-Avi (About a boy in Medievel times, Has a great ending)

The Wish List ( So good!  It was my favorite for 3 years till I read the first book I mentioned.)

The Zodiac (May be a little much, It is about the serial killer who ruled San Fransico for a very long time)

I have had lots of luck with international authors. They seem to right the best, and the most original.

I highly recommend the Zodiac, but there are a few very gruesome scenes in it. It could be a little too much.

  12. im 13...im started the twilight series..

    help me? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  13. When i was 14 i read books like Harry Potter, Sweet Valley Junior High, Sevens and the clique series!

  14. Wades through all the Twilight suggestions -- try Pride and Prejudice. Good and easy to read, contrary to popular opinion, the language is very easy to understand, nothing like Shakespeare (altho he's good) and certainly none of the brain hurting OmG i LyKe aDoRe mR DaRcy SaYs eLiZaBeTh stuff. If you're looking for contemporary literature, try Glass Houses in the Morganville Series by Rachel Caine. It's good and there's no sparkly fairies flitting about.

    Cheers!

  15. Confessions of Gerogia Nicolson series by Louisse Rennison. There's nine so far in the series, but more to come. It's one of my two favourite series. That and The Vampire Diaries by L.J.Smith. It's like a thriller romanc action thing goin on. You gotta read both the series!! start with the vampire diaries because there aren't as many books as the georgia nicolson series.

    YAAY!!

Can you help me out? It's easy peasy. It's about my characters (in my book): http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind... Smanx if you do. If you don't, that's ok, too.

  16. My 15 year old daughter loves the "Love Inspired"  and "Suspense" books by Steeple Hill.  They are "Heartwarming Inspirational Romance/Suspense" books that are safe to read with good morals.  Go to www.SteepleHill.com for more information.  I even read them!  She shares them with her friends and they all seem to enjoy them.  I bought her 60 books for Christmas and she is almost done with them already.  Happy reading!

  17. What's the girl like?  At 14 it's possible that she'll appreciate gifts that demonstrate that you think she's becoming an adult, and can handle books that aren't necessarily meant for "teen girls."  When I was 14 I got really sick of people expecting me to be reading dumb niche books (ie: Sweet Valley High, etc.).  Seriously--if she's at all curious about the world go for really great fiction (the classics, even?).  Postmodern novelists like Don DeLillo, Thomas Pynchon, Kathy Acker (a bit rough at times) will get her street cred with (if she's into this) the little smart-hipster kids at school.

What about Winterson, Byatt, Eugenides...or even poetry?

Otherwise, I'd say give her a gift certificate to a good bookstore.  Another possibility is a really cool blank book.  If you really don't know her very well, leave it up to her.  Good luck!

  18. The twilight series! It is an amazing book written by stephanie meyer. Once you start reading it you cant stop. The first book in the series is twilight, new moon, eclipse, and then breaking dawn.

  19. well it really depends on the girl's reading level. the twilight series is good overall for everyone, though. a few books i liked, off the top of my head, are:

The Kite Runner, The Time Traveler's Wife, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, My Sister's Keeper, The A-List Series

  20. It depends on the reading level. Me, when i was that age i remember reading a whole host of books from Enid Blyton, Nancy Drew etc. The complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Narnia Series, I kissed Dating Goodbye, The trilogy by Bill Pullman, Animal farm, thimble summer, Spies Among Us by Agatha Christie, Black beauty, Anderson's Fairy Tales, The Pilgrim's Progress, Men and Gods,

    Hope this helps

  21. I'm fourteen(:

twilight series. Great, great books for teens.

Gossip Girl, but only if you are mature enough to read it. If you like horror, the Cirque Du Freak Series and Demonata series are pretty good too.

Life of Pi. Its an interesting fiction book that has a very strange twist.

good luck! Message me if you want any more suggestions!

  22. The Twilight series seems to be the best for teen girls. There are four books already out to this series and it has been on the New York's Best Sellers list for about four years that they have already started making a movie.

the four books out so far in order are:

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn all written by Stephenie Meyer

  23. definitely twilight, you'll get hooked.

  24. the whole gossip girl series was good, i loved them.

and i also the book rhymes with witches.

it sounds cheesy and what not but it was really good.

  25. twilight was really good.
