  1. A quick Internet search would yield hundreds of introductory ghost hunting books. I would recommend reading a few from different viewpoints. "The Ghost Hunter's Bible" is a good one to start with, though shouldn't be the only one you read. I usually recommend people go to www.meetup.com or put out a craigslist want ad to join a local paranormal investigation group. Most are happy to take on new members and provide some basic training.

  2. I'm not sure on any books or anything but I would recommend looking at TAPS (www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com... they have a wonderful forums site that has a good amount of info on the paranormal. I also run a paranormal site (brand new though so we don' t have many members or posts yet) but it's www.southeast-ohio-paranormal-society.co... and has a forums link under community.

Good luck on your book search though!

  3. There are many books out there by Hans Holtzer that I would recommend as well.  He has been in this field for decades and has a lot to offer both the beginner as well as seasoned investigators.  Even just his books of past cases are interesting to read!

  4. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/105...

  5. I personally have my favorite five.

    1. How To Find A Ghost by James Deem

        (its a young readers book)

    2. Paranormal Investigator's Handbook Ed. Valerie Hope

    3. The Poltergeist by William Roll

    4. ESP, Hauntings, and Poltergeist by Loud Auerbach

    5. The Vanishing Hitchhiker by Brunvand

(about Urban Legends so you can recognize when

you're being told a story from folklore)

All except the last one include questions to ask and how to  conduct investigations.

    Psi

  6. Please make sure your list includes "Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan. I implore you.

  7. There are none.

Everyone claims to know the correct way to be a paranormal investigator. Truth is no one knows, there is no scientific method on how to investigate the paranormal.

  8. www.book-of-thoth.com

  9. I am a paranormal investigator and suggest books by Loyd Auerbach , Taps, Joshua P. Warren, Troy Taylor, and Jeff Belanger

also look up haunted locations in your state try looking for places to disprove claims such as suspected witnessed claims in cemetaries/ historic sites etc. I hope you find what your looking for :)
