Does weight lifting make you slower? What are non weight lifting exercises?

  1. This rouitine is called the "3-2-1"

    1. Skip for 3 minutes

    2. Sit - ups for 2 minutes

    3. press - ups for 1 minute

    4. Punch bag for 3 minutes

    5. Leg raises for 2 minutes

    6. Dips for 1 minute

    7. Repeat the above 3 times

    also do a lot of jogging.


  2. Get Joe Frazier's book "Fight Like the Pros". It's very old school -  no use of weights, all bodyweight/free exercises, roadwork, shadow boxing tips etc. It's  good start even it you move on to moderner training methods later. It's available on Amazon.

    And, by the way, in my opinion weights will make you slow and will add weight in the wrong places.

  3. For speed and to get cut you need to lift light weights and do non stop repititions until you cant do any more reps.



    just push yourself... this can get you alot of speed.

    If you are focusing on accuracy and speed use focus pads, floor to ceiling ball and plenty of combinations...

    pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, air squats, air lunges, running(long distance and sprints), swimming, jump-rope, squat-thrusts,lye down on a bench and grab onto the bench behind your head and bring your knees to your chest while bringing your but and part of your lower torso off the bench as well, knees to elbows(hang from a pull-up bar and bring our knees to your elbows), wall ball shots ( stand close to a wall and throw a medicine ball against it lightly while doing squats at the same time, for each time you catch it go into a squat), and others.
