  1. as wet26 all of them ,or are you asking Where instead of what, edit your question

  2. Wet26 is right, all the pubs in England are British pubs. Maybe you want to narrow your search down to something on the lines of "What are some good pubs in the (insert city)  area?"

  3. There are thousands. If you want actual examples try the King's Head or the Red Lion.

  4. What size do you think England is? You make it sound like you could walk from one end to the other in half an hour!

There are plenty of suggestions in the following article:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/wine/main.jht...

A good book to get, available from http://www.amazon.co.uk is The Good Pub Guide 2008 by Fiona Stapley and Alisdair Aird.

Don't limit yourself to England. Some of our most 'quaint' and traditional pubs are in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

  5. Eh?  All of them are British pubs...

  6. There are 8000 pubs in London alone, look for ones that look like period bulidings, rather than high st cafes, the best pubs are usually to be found in rural areas and are free houses (not tied to a brewery) which means they sell beer that they think is going to taste nice, tied houses are rented from a brewery (that tells the landlord what beer he can and cannot sell) breweries dont give a fig what a pub is like as long as it pays the rent.  So look for free houses in the countryside.

Some are nearly a thousand years old!
