So far we´ve played Uno (great for colors and numbers), BS, and Go Fish (great for "Do you have___?¨") Can you think of any others?

  1. War would be a good one. Again helping with numbers. Depending on the child, you could push Solitaire.

Rummy would be good for Runs of numbers and Sets

  2. SPADES!!!!!! LOL just kidding !

try old maid ,solitare, rummy ,21 or google some games!

  3. Make your own. Get some 3x5 cards and print words on each one. The object of the game is to make complete sentences. Deal out four or five cards and then the players draw from the deck as if they were playing rummy.

There's a game called Quidler in which the players spell words. One of the rules is, it has to be a correctly spelled English word. Of course, you can change the rules to fit your situation.

  4. umm lets see you could play war, helps with knowing the higher numbers, you could even get them to play solitatre. those are a few

  5. I don't know if you have ever heard of MadLibs, but that would be a very fun way to get everyone to participate.

Depending upon the ages of the students and at what level of learning they are at, MadLibs teaches things such as Verbs, Adverbs or Adjectives (which you might be able to find simple ways of explaining what they are and how to use them) and it is sort of a fill in the blanks story and there are no certain words that they have to know, only what type of words to put where (so you could get an answer like f**t or stinky or pretty in a funny place within the story).

When I was in 6th grade, our teacher would do this on a 'casual Friday' during the part of the day when she would try to teach us English and we would have a blast.

    Good Luck.
