  1. Yep, if you've got good grades and just got out of high school, they'll pay you to become a nurse.  That's what my niece did.  She graduated Nursing school on a paid scholarship with an internship, got married and bought a house at age 22 (2007).

    Look into all the training opps for Medical Assistants - lots of times you can use unemployment funds to pay for them, and they offer job placement.

    Becoming a Dr. can cost up to $500K in student loans, but once that's paid off, they can become millionairres pretty easily.  

    Unfortunately, blood makes me squeamish.


  2. Healthcare, healthcare, healthcare. Whether you work in a hospital cafeteria, spend 2 years and become a radiologist or go the 4-8 year distance to become a Registered Nurse, Doctor or Surgeon you will have a very high level of job security in healthcare for the next 25 years minimum. Not only is it job security but many roles in healthcare will pay for portions of your schooling and even pay you a bonus to agree to work for them.
