I am scheduled for surgery soon, and the doctor says that beginning the day before surgery, I should not eat any solid food, only clear liquid foods.

  1. Barley water: bring a cup of dehulled barley, one orange or lemon cut into sections, and six cups of water to a boil.  Simmer forty five minutes.  Cool and strain.

Veggie broth: chop half a head of cabbage, a large potato, a couple of celery ribs, and one small carrot.  Cover with water and simmer in a large sauce pan.

I don't know if there's such a thing as vegan gelatin.  I assume so.  But I hate jiggly foods, so I've never tried to find out.  You might try a tomato aspic.  Recipes for that are pretty widely available.

    Good luck with your surgery.

  2. juices or jellos nothing with red dye in it.

  3. yeah all you can do is drink water.

  4. Vegetable broth!

  5. A clear liquid when it comes to surgery is defined as anything you can see through!

So, 7-Up, Sprite, water, apple juice, things like that.

The person above who said vegetable broth, that might work!

Make sure you take vitamins and supplements to keep healthy and stuff!
