What are some good co-ed extra curricular activities to pick up?

My female friend and I were trying to find a new hobby or extra curricular activity to pick up. We would prefer something co-ed that we could try to meet other people of both genders, we are both 16 so preferably something that involves high schoolers would be great. Also something not overly time consuming as my friend dances frequently and I am in Tae Kwon Do. Thank you.

video games like the xbox 360 are great and you can play together and with other teens online.

Since you live in a metropolitan area, you could look up acting troops in the area.  That is a mix of all kinds of people.  You could also look into the Exploring programs in your area.  This is a coed program of the old boy scouts that centers on certain career choices or hobbies.  You would have to call your local scout council to see what is in your area.  Good luck and have fun.
