  1. East Carolina University in Greenville North Carolina is a great teaching college.

It used to be called East Carolina Teacher College many, many, many years ago.

This is a great school and a great area of the country.  Not to far from the mountains and skiing and pretty close to the coast!!

  2. I think most universities with a program in teaching do a good job these days because of national standards. However, my biased opinion is that Appalachian State University in North Carolina is wonderful. I got my MA from there. My other teaching degree was from UNC, which is also very wonderful. NC has a ton of great colleges and universities if you are in that area.

  3. UGA   GOOOOOOOO DAWGS....SIC UM....

University of GA has an excellent teaching program. Not to mention the best college town ever. Athens is great!

  4. I doesn't matter, I swear.  I have been on multiple hiring committees I can't remember where a single one of them went to college.  I would say go to a college where you can get a quality education in your Primary degree.  For the love of god do not major in education.

  5. Almost all state Universities have a teaching program - check the website of the nearest University to where you live.

  6. UNH (University of New Hampshire) has a good program.  Let's say you want to be a history teacher.  You can major in History and minor in Education.  You will get a BA in four years.  Then you enter their Master's program and you take 5 classes (which if you do early decision you can take your senior year of undergrad and get dual credits) and do a year long internship, teaching at a local high school.  At the end of this (it takes a year and one summer usually, although some do it just in a year and some need two summers ((the summer before and the summer after the internship))) Then you have a Master's in Education and you will get paid more for the one extra year and you are done with a Masters so for the first few years of teaching you can actually focus on the teaching.
