  1. You can get vegetable "sushi" .... and there's a marinated seaweed salad that I absolutely LOVE (don't know the name).   There's also tofu "sushi" and other tofu dishes.  Make sure you get some edaname in the shell too.....

  2. Japanese salad ( usually they are vegetarian, at least I never seen a non vegetarian Japanese salad), vegetarian sushi, miso, tofu, vegetarian tempura...

  3. I am vegetarian and I just ate at a Japanese restaurant last night.

    I had:

    Agedashi tofu- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agedashi_to...

    inari-zushi- http://japanesefood.about.com/od/sushi/r...

and a salad with soy vinagrette dressing. I love both of those types of tofu dishes (why I went to the restaurant in the first place!).

As for vegetarian options, there are some vegetarian/vegan sushi's (it means vinegared rice not raw fish). There should be miso soup (ask that it doesn't have fish in it), noodle dishes, some other tofu dishes, and that seaweed salad (I have not tried it)- it's called wakame. Also, edamame (soybeans) & vegetable tempura, as the answerers above me said. The restaurant may also have some type of seitan (wheat gluten that is often prepared as a faux meat).

  4. Inari

    Avocado maki

    Tempura.

Many places have veggie combo rolls with or without tempura.

    That's pretty much it.

    Have you heard of shojin-ryori?

  5. Eggplant parmigiana

    Macaroni and cheese
