What are some good companies for a new sales engineering / technical sales position?

I am a junior in Mechanical Engineering w/ Sales Eng. minor. I am looking to get an internship with a company for summer '09 to get a feel for a prospective company. Yet, I don't have any companies to compare. I recently had an internship with GE Appliances. I found out that type of engineering is not what I want to do. I work well around people, under stress, and with multiple things on my plate. I found sitting at a cubical for the most part of the day boring and not engaging.

Could I get a recommendation for a company that would be interesting/ engaging and offer me room to grow and move? Preferably in the Sales Eng. and possibly a Mech. Eng. job. Anything transportation, defense, even just sensors interest me. I am the type that can pick up on anything and impress most anyone, so I wouldn't put any job out of reach for me. I live in Florida but have traveled all over and would be fully open to relocation as long as it is a good place to live/work.

  2. I suggest that you look at Agilent and Hewlett-Packard.
