What are some good computers?

Question

One of mine I have had for 3 years..and another is SOOO SLOW! and I barely use it! like I never use it! so how could I talk my parents into getting me a new computer?

The 3-year-old computer should be okay.  Why replace it?  You can upgrade it cheaply with more RAM.  It probably uses DDR RAM, which is relatively cheap.  Put the max in and it should do most of what you want.

UNLESS YOU ARE A GAMER.  Then, you'll never have a computer that seems fast enough.

And the other computer, even if it's older than 3 years, can be cleaned up to work faster.  Most computers slow down because of internet c**p that collects in the harddrive.  Just run a couple good anti-virus and anti-spyware programs to clean that c**p out, and the computer probably will run much faster.  Also, check the programs that start running everytime you boot the computer, and shut down all that you don't need immediately when you boot (and you really don't need anything running everytime you boot up).  I shut down everything in the start menu.  I can always load it later when I REALLY need it.

And when I say shut these programs down, I only mean you should stop them from loading automatically.   I DO NOT mean delete them from your computer.
