My mom used to buy pretty ribbon and braid three different colors on a hanger , I would sit and watch her do that for hours they also keep your clothes form slipping ..you could try that or you could make it super straight with a loop on the end and break into some cars ;)

If they are metal  you can bend them to all sorts of things.  One example is a doll and make clothes and a face out of felt.

You can bend it to a circle and cover it with yarn or lace to make a wreath.

I knit a lot and sometimes use wire hangers bent into shapes, to block the garment. For instance you can bend a hanger to the shape of a sock. after washing the new piece slide the damp sock down over the shaped hanger and let it dry into shape. You can also make things like shaping a reindeer and knitting then felting the wool over the shaped from the wire hanger. Then, putting them out for the holidays.
