  1. mauricio gave you a very complete answer i just want to show you some pics:

    http://mexicocity.ciudadmexico.com.mx/

And i recomend you use the TURIBUS, it's the best way of transportation when you are a tourist in Mexico City

    (sorry my bad english)

  2. Good answers.

    You also have Six Flags,

    bullfights

all kinds of shows (night life)

Xochimilco, a maze of creeks where you ride a Chalupa (a little boat) and listen to mariachi

Estadio Azteca (the biggest stadium after maracana from brazil.

You have tons of walking markets.

    Chapultepec park and zoo.

The museum zone in Paseo de la Reforma. (There are more than ten museums to visit).

  3. Nobody's mentioned the Ballet Folklorico at the Bellas Artes theater.  Check with your hotel, they migh be able to get you on a tour bus to take you there and back--that's how the wife and I went.

If your there on a Saturday, go to Bazar Sábado in San Angel for arts and crafts.  Go early, because some vendors start closing up in the afternoon.

  4. They've already told you a bunch of things you can do in Mexico City, so I'll focus on the day trips.

The most popular one is the visit to the pyramids in Teotihuacan, only a couple of hours (or less) away from Mexico City, towards the north. We also have a city called Queretaro about 2.5 hours away to the north west of Mex City, Puebla to the east (2 hour bus ride), Cuernavaca to the south (wonderful weather).... nice colonial places to visit, and where you can eat some nice genuine typical mexican food (especially in Puebla). There are many buses departing for these destinations every half an hour / hour from different bus terminals and it's worth the short trip so you can see other places and not only mexico city, if this is what you want.

    Have a nice trip.
