  1. Try using this marinade and then cooking them either on the grill or in the oven.  You can also replace most of the oil with water and use the marinade as a sauce to make pulled pork in a crockpot.  Just put 1-2lbs of pork in the crockpot, pour the sauce over, and cook until the meat falls apart.

    California Marinade

    1/2 c. cooking oil

    1/4 c. lemon juice

    1 T. paprika

    2 T. worcestershire sauce

    2 T. vinegar

    2 t. salt

    2 t. sugar

    2 cloves garlic, crushed

  2. Ingredients:

    1 onion, chopped

    4 tablespoon butter, divided

    2 cups white bread crumbs

    1/2 cup chopped parsley

    1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    Dash pepper

    1/2 cup hot water

    1 egg, beaten

    2 thick pork steaks

    Directions:

Saute onion in 1 tablespoon butter in skillet. Add bread crumbs, parsley and seasoning; toss to combine well. Add remaining tablespoon butter, water and enough of the egg to moisten. Slit steaks lengthwise, not quite through; open out butterfly-style. Place one steak on a flat surface; spread stuffing over top. Cover with remaining steak. Secure with string. Drizzle remaining tablespoon of melted butter over top. Place in baking dish; pour about 1 cup water around steak. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes; turn steak over. Lower heat to 325 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes longer, basting occasionally. If meat seems to be browning too quickly, cover lightly with foil.

  3. Just brown them well on both sides, add a thinly sliced onion, salt, pepper, about a half cup or so of chicken broth or white wine, cover and simmer until tender, about 3/4 of an hour.

  4. Pork Steaks can be used in place of Pork Chops in all the following recipes:

I love to cook with fruit and pork - it is such a great combination of flavors.

Here is one way that I do mine: In a bowl, combine 1 cup sliced apples with a tablespoon of honey, teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, 3 tablespoons of sugar - you can use either white or brown sugar - and 1/2 cup apple juice or cider - whichever you prefer and mix to combine; let sit while you brown your pork chops in some butter in a heavy pan; pour the apple mixture over your pork, bring to a boil, cover and then simmer until pork chops are tender. You can substitute peaches - canned, frozen or fresh - for the apples or use canned pie apples if you do not have fresh.

    Baked Pork Chops #1

Marinate your pork chops in Italian dressing for about 1 hour then roll in Italian style bread crumbs that have Parmesan and Romano cheeses mixed in - bake at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour depending upon how thick/big they are. Serve with roasted, baked or smashed potatoes, a veggie or salad and spiced apples or applesauce.

    Baked Pork Chops #2

1 box of stuffing mix like Stove Top

    4-6 Pork Chops

1 can condensed Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken soup - I like Campbell's but any brand will work

    1/2 soup can of milk

1/4 cup bread crumbs - I like Italian style

    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix the can of soup and milk; set aside. Make stuffing mix according to package directions and spread into a greased 13x9 in baking pan. Place pork choops over the stuffing. Cover with the soup mixture. Sprinkle the shredded cheese and bread crumbs over the top of the pork chops and bake for 45 minutes to one hour depending upon how thick your chops are. Serve with a green salad and spiced apples.

Prepared macaroni and cheese, rice or rice pilaf can be substituted for the stuffing.

    Baked Pork Chops #3

    4-6 Pork Chops

    1 can cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and spray a baking pan with Pam or other non-stick spray. Arrange Pork Chops on pan and spoon on 1/2 cherry pie filling. Bake for 30 minutes then spoon or brush on remaining pie filling and cook for another 30 minutes or until the meat is done. Serve with white rice, rice pilaf, roasted or mashed potatoes, a steamed veggie and a salad. Do not forget the applesauce or spiced apples.

  5. Cajun Fried Chicken or Pork

4-5 boneless chicken b*****s, boneless pork chops

1 cup of self-rising flour, unsifted

    1 tsp garlic salt

    1 tsp cayenne pepper

    1tbs Dijon mustard

    1/3 cup Tabasco

    ¼ cup water

    1 – 1 ½ cups oil, for frying

Combine cayenne pepper, mustard, Tabasco, and water in plastic container or gallon size zip lock bag. If you pierce chicken with a fork first it will be a lot spicier (don’t do this unless you like it HOT!). Place chicken in marinade, turning to coat well. Marinate for no more than 1 hour, turning frequently.

Combine self-rising flour and garlic salt in a plastic bag or container. Add chicken to coat, one at a time is best. I use tongs so my hands don’t get messy.

Heat vegetable oil in large skillet on medium high heat.

Fry chicken pieces, turning once, for about 15-20 minutes total. Remove from pan immediately and keep warm. If you use regular pieces of chicken, with bone in, cook for at least 30-45 minutes, or until done.

    Serving Suggestions:

Garlic flavored pasta or garlic mashed potatoes and green beans or broccoli.

    Moms Accidental Teriyaki Pork Chops

This dish can be made more or less sweet according to taste. It is just as good without the mushrooms.

6 to 8 pork chops (boneless) or chicken

    ¼ cup butter or margarine

    3 TBS olive oil

    1 cup slice mushrooms (optional)

¼ cup sweet wine (White port wine is good)

    ½ cup Kikoman Teriyaki Marinade

¼ cup corn syrup or sugar (optional), use only if you like your teriyaki a little sweet

1 - (10 ½ oz) can white sauce or package white sauce made according to directions

In large skillet brown pork chops in 2 tablespoons melted butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Remove chops from pan. Add remaining butter and oil to pan drippings. Add mushrooms and sauté until golden brown. Add remaining ingredients except white sauce. And simmer for 15 minutes. Add white sauce and stir until smooth and completely blended. Place pork chops in a 3-quart casserole dish and pour sauce over it. Bake at 350F for about 1 ½ hours or until chops are tender.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Serving suggestions: Goes great with mashed potatoes (use the sauce over the potatoes), pasta, or rice.
