What are some good educational, free websites for kids?

My 7 year old is not the best reader but is computer literate. Their must be some good free web sites out there that can help her catch up on her reading. Thanks for your help!

Only a book will help your child to read.  The elctronic media (TV, internet) are no substitutes for sitting down with a book and decoding the written language.  The smartest 20 year old I know (and I know a lot!) was raised in a house without a TV set.  In fact, he was sent to a private school that mandated no TV in the homes of their students!  A wise idea there.

    I would go so far as to say of television at least that there is no educative value, regardless of content or production quality, to anything on television.  The very nature of the medium is too passive for significant learning to occur, or at least for any learning to be retained long.
