  1. I myself am a naughty person. I personally don't do much stretching at all when I am playing, but a few goodies are getting in really good arm stretches because if you tend to pass the ball a lot like a halfback, you need your arms to be loose and good to go.

  2. It depends on what you want to achieve.  You can want endurance or speed, and strength or size.

    Endurance:

Run around an oval 12-15 times.  Run on grass if you can, as it will absorb the shock for your knees.

If using weights, use very small weights and do 5 sets of 15-20 reps.

    Speed:

Try to enlarge your step [when running].  You need to be careful not to overdue it and actually slow down your running.

Do short sprints of between 10 and 40 metres.  Best to sprint, then walk/jog back to the start and sprint again.  Use the time going back to start as the rest period.

    Strength:

Get the largest weight you can and do 5 sets of 2-3 reps.

    Size:

Similar to endurance, but gradually lifting the weight.  You would probably be best off using some supplement that increases your muscle size.

If looking for things to do with weights.  Squats are the best.  Leg presses, bench press, shoulder works, calves, thighs, etc.  Best to find 'all body' movements.  This way you do not isolate your muscle development from the rest of your body and your body will be able to handle the hits better.  The hits could be you tackling or being tackled.
