  1. Exercises that train the abs, back, and arms. So crunches for abs, bent over rows and rowing machine for back, and dumbbell extentions and pressdowns for triceps and bicep curls and concentration curls for biceps. But if the rowing is endurance do high rep sets of all the exercises.

  2. Arm exercises are good for rowing.

  3. i would say anything you can do in the gym that works out your back, I would recommend doing high reps anywhere from 15 to 20.  I would leaen towards Tbar rows, Lat Pull downs, Dumbbell Rows, and i would probably throw in a machine something that allowed you to do some negatives. try 4 sets with 15-20 reps

  4. you can do the hover its where you get in a push up postion and flex thats a very good ab exercies. well have a good 1

  5. Definatley the rowing machine, and rows. However you should probably consider working out your entire body because you will be using more than just your shoulders!

  6. Its 60% or more legs: Running bleachers and hills, lots of sets of squats, leg pess, jump squats.

For the arms: bench row, bent over row, standing row, pull-ups, chin-ups.

Low back and ab strength are also critical.  Do crunches and dead lifts (carefully), and squats also help the low back.

  7. Rowing is the best exercise to train for rowing. If you can't get out there, use a rowing machine, and some lat pull downs, seated rows or other such back exercises. Make sure you have an all round exercise regime though, or you will have a big muscular back out of proportion with the rest of your body. Make sure you work your arms, shoulders, chest and most important, your core (abs etc)

  8. what evolving soul said!

  9. Abs and lunges. Abs for the stomach but lunges to improve the hip flexors(the muscles that bulge on the side of your waist when you sit-up or walk forward).

  10. lift weights, jog, etc

  11. Learn to swim first

  12. Rowing machine!~ i have one of them and there at most gyms to.

  13. a rowing machine at your local gym

  14. runs

    squats

    bridging

    kneeling on a fit ball

    sit ups

    push ups

    squat jumps

    weight training (depending on level)

    and of course, rowing!

  15. use a rowing machine!

i think anything the focuses on your upper body strength is good for rowing but you still need to use you legs a bit so probably jogging for that

  16. this may be obvious but its all i can think of,

you can by one of those rowing machines because they work all the muscles you need!

  17. Rowing needs strong back, legs, core and arms. For back, seated row with high reps to build stamina, & lat pull down. legs I would look at squats, lunges, leg extensions. Core strength is basically abs, see a trainer to get what works for you. Arms is bicep curls, and Tricep isolation exercises. Other than this, time rowing is key as this will help to build stamina in muscles required.

  18. pushups or lifting weights

  19. You really wont have to mimic your rowing in the gym as you'll be rowing outside. As rowing will isolate your body and be very repetitive you might think of core strengthening exercises. Think of any resistance move that you can add a twist to. Twisting your abdomen while lunging, twisting while using weighted pulleys all very good.

  20. You would be suprised to know how strong you require your legs to be for rowing. I rowed for years during and after school. My coaches would always say 70% legs 30% arms and upper body.

For strengthening legs, try lunges and squats. There are also some machines at the gym that will help you to build those muscles.

For arms, try jogging with small weights or lift your arms to shoulder height and and move arms in circle motions. you should start to feel a burn in your upper arms.

For abs, sit ups are always great, jogging.

Try getting on a rowing machine and giving it a go!

    Goodluck!

  21. ROWS!!!!!!

  22. Do exercises that mimic the event you wish to participate in.
