What are some good ghost/haunting movies?

I'm looking for some good ghost and/or demon type of movies. You know, a movie such as The Amityville Horror. And I prefer them to not be "too fake" such as movies like 13 Ghosts and other movies like that were. Something that seems more realistic yet still spooky. Kind of like the original Amityville movie was.

The lady in white is a great one; it's older, SO scary, and not too cheesy. The Changeling is good but a little boring at times. Silent Hill is a new one that is also excellent. 13 ghosts is a very very good one. The Grudge and Grudge 2, Poltergeist is good but cheesy, the children under the stairs also cheesy/good

Something like the Amityville, The Grudge, The Ring, The Omen, The Shining, The Messengers-pretty much a rip off of amityville, the Exorcist, Ring Around the Rosie, Dead Silence, Stay Alive, etc.

Saw isn't ghosty, but its realistic.

The 1st version of "The Haunting of Hill House" with an actress whose 1st name is Julie. It was made sometime in the 1960's if I remember correctly. It doesn't show a ghost but it is there & it is evil.  It is just the type of show I think you're looking for.

I absolutely second the recommendation of The Others.

I'd also recommend Session 9, The Changeling (the 1980 film with George C. Scott), Blair Witch Project, Haunted (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113269/ since there are several films/shows with that title).

If you like documentaries, anything by the Booth Brothers would be worth checking out. http://www.boothbrothers.blogspot.com/

They've put out Spooked and Children of the Grave, both of which were really good.

In terms of "demon" movies... I'd say check out The Sentinal, Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist (duh), The Omen, etc. The 1970's produced some really scary "devil" movies.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
